Advocacy Services
Our Mission
We are here to help
Disability advocacy means helping people with disabilities understand and use the NDIS and other support services. Advocates give information, support, and guidance. They help make sure people are treated fairly, help solve problems, and speak up for better access and inclusion for everyone.
We focus on three key areas to make a positive impact:
1. Advocating for Change
We speak up to help the government and services understand the challenges faced by people with disabilities and show them ways to improve support and outcomes.
2. Showing What Works
We run community-focused projects that test real solutions and share examples of what helps families in everyday situations.
3. Supporting Individuals and Families
We give practical, one-on-one support to help people navigate complex systems like the NDIS, so they can get the services and opportunities they need.

Josephine, a 28-year-old from an Eastern European background, has been part of the NDIS since its inception. Although almost bedridden and only able to walk a few steps, her applications for essential support—including a wheelchair and home bathroom modifications—
were rejected due to insufficient supporting evidence.
With our assistance, comprehensive documentation was provided, including an OT report, letters from her GP and specialist, and quotes from home modification agencies. The revised application was approved, resulting in the necessary modifications being implemented. Josephine's mother, her primary carer, reports a significant improvement in their quality of life since these changes were made. (names have been changed to protect confidentiality.)
Accessing support services such as the NDIS, My Aged Care, or other programs can be incredibly challenging due to a range of barriers. Language difficulties, navigating complex systems, and understanding eligibility requirements are just some of the obstacles people face. Recognising these challenges, we are deeply passionate and committed to making a meaningful difference by providing support and empowering individuals to access the services they need.
